Facilities

Our centre has a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces to support learning in nature. We offer safe and comfortable areas for hands-on activities, group work and overnight stays.

Our local environment

Our centre is based in a eucalyptus woodland and we are close to the Gara River. Both of these natural areas provide habitat for a diverse range of native plants and animals. The Thalgarrah EEC site also has a rich Aboriginal and European History that can be observed.

We use these outdoor spaces to help students learn about nature, history and sustainability.

Our learning spaces

We have both indoor and outdoor spaces that give students unique learning experiences and allows them to connect with the natural world around them.

At our centre, we offer:

These spaces let students learn by doing and connect with the natural world around them.

Overnight camp spaces

We have additional facilities to keep visitors comfortable if they are staying overnight.

This includes sleeping lodges, kitchen, dining room and showers.

Lodges

There are 2 lodges (Bird & Possum) for overnight accommodation. Each lodge has a centre room for supervising adults and a room either side for students.

Dining Room

A large dining room and kitchen is where we met for meals while on camp. Our caterers produce tasty meals for campers to keep energy levels up.

When staying on camp, organising teachers will choose meals from Sugar's Kitchen Menu.
