About this program

We are excited to offer a unique visual art experience designed specifically for High Potential Gifted Stage 2 students. The program will inspire creativity and foster artistic skills through engaging activities centered on the theme "The Fabulous Forest Floor".

Activities

Ink and Leaves Artwork: Students will explore natural textures and patterns by using ink and real leaves to create detailed and expressive artworks.

Scratch Art Forest Creatures: Combining creativity and technique, students will use scratch art methods to depict various forest floor creatures, bringing their artwork to life with intricate designs.

Abstract Acrylic Paintings: Encouraging imagination and experimentation, students will use acrylic paints to produce vibrant abstract pieces inspired by the forest floor.

This program will be delivered twice throughout 2026:

  • Tuesday 19 May 2026 (Term 2, Week 5)
  • Tuesday 4 August 2026 (Term 3, Week 3)

This program is designed to cater for students from multiple schools. Please note that program capacity is capped at 24 students in total. Each school is able to nominate a maximum of 4 students per date.

Teacher information
What to bring

Students

  • Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor learning
  • Hat
  • Covered walking shoes
  • Own recess and lunch ('nude food'/plastic free food is encouraged)
  • Water bottle

Teachers

  • Own recess and lunch. Visiting adults are welcome to use the refrigerator and microwave. Tea and coffee is provided.
  • Water bottle
  • Special medical/learning requirements for individual students
Extreme or wet weather

Program may be modified, postponed or cancelled due to predicted extreme temperatures, bush fire danger, heavy rainfall, high winds or dust storms.

Check the weather forecast for the Armidale area.

Medical notifications Notify us by completing and returning the student welfare form at least one week before the excursion. This form will be sent out upon confirmation of booking.
