Overnight Camps

Camp overview

An overnight camp at Thalgarrah EEC can provide wonderful opportunities for personal development, team building and learning about the natural environment.

As a NSW Department of Education facility, Thalgarrah EEC is able to offer low cost, 2 or 3 day camping programs for both primary and secondary students.

These programs provide a unique blend of curriculum-based environmental, historical, and cultural learning experiences that utilise the diverse attractions, and natural environments of the surrounding Armidale region.

Camp activities

A camp at Thalgarrah can be tailored to suit the particular needs of your group. Many of the activities from the day programs can be included as part of your camping program.

We usually start a camp with some team building exercises and sensory awareness activities in the nearby woodland.

At the end of the first day of camp Thalgarrah EEC staff lead the students in a game of "Tribes & Territories," a great activity for team building and problem solving and always the most highly rated activity on camp by the students - for the past 40 years!

Evening camp activities
For night activities there are many things to choose from. You may like to have a campfire at our campfire circle on the edge of the woodland, go spotlighting through the woodland, or settle in the classroom to watch a movie. You may like to design your own Talent Night or Quiz Night. We also have a selection of board games available for a Games Night.
